U.S.B.C. is an evangelical Baptist Church in Swindon, comprising around 100 members. We are affiliated to the Baptist Union of Great Britain and are members of the Evangelical Alliance. The church was founded in 1862 (then known as the Tucker Memorial Baptist Chapel) and the premises were refurbished in 1996 to provide facilities better suited to our modern needs. A detailed history can be found here

Our Sunday worship services each seek to glorify God in different ways:

We have a:
  • Morning Service at 9.15am, which is a more traditional style
  • Family Worship service at 11.00am, with groups for kids and family-orientated worship
  • Evening meetings at 6pm most weeks - see service information page

Worship is led by a talented group of musicians with a range of instruments - keyboard, piano, drums, organ, flute, and guitars are all used at various times.

Your free gift from God!

Some 2000 years ago, Jesus Christ came into the world, bringing the opportunity for each of us to be 'saved' - which means each of us can be given a new start with God, forgiven for the things we've done wrong and seen by God as 'spotless' - we can be 'made right with God'.

We believe all of us are free to choose whether we put our trust in Jesus, who is 'the way, the truth and the life'.

The free gift of life is offered to you by God - but the choice is yours - to accept or reject it.

Jesus said:
"I tell you the truth, unless a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God"

"For God so loved the world, that He sent His only Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

( John chapter 3 verses 3 and 16 - 18 - NIV translation )

If you do not know Jesus as your personal friend and Saviour, then please - seek Him now - not just for when you die, but for the whole of your life - now and eternally. His promise is that He came 'that they may have life, and have it to the full'. Even more than this, the Bible promises each of us the right to become 'children of God' -

"Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life."

( Revelation chapter 22 verse 17 )

"Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God"

( John chapter 1 verse 12 - NIV translation )
